Unhappy MBM5 is dead!

Shows how often I check the website :/
http://mbm.livewiredev.com/ - top news item.
I only read it this morning, thats a real shame.

Most importantly, who's going to come up with a sucessor that's as well integrated as MBM5? I mean, "desktop info" showers like Coolmon and Samurize plug in to it, as do numerous other bits of software. Even mIRC uses it ffs.

This is actually a serious problem, because as new boards come out all those applications that rely on MBM5 to read temps and volts and fans are going to be unable to work.

Ooer.

Re: MBM5 is dead!

aw.... pity... I installed it recently, and it's a good tool. Also a pity he can't release the source.
Perhaps people can poke SiSoft to make their Sandra run in the background or something. That tool is quite complete too.

oh well...

Re: MBM5 is dead!

Its more the fact that there won't be any monitor chip updates.
Most of the new S939 boards for Athlon64s are unsupported as it is (although they might work to some extent).

Re: MBM5 is dead!

It's not all bad though since you can get some temperature monitor sensors for like £10 each. If you don't know what I'm on about you may have seen one in a LN2 (Liquid Nitrogen) overclocking videos perhaps. I

I've got a pair and they seemed to be in-tune with what my BIOS was saying (accuracy) as opposed to MBM which was always a few *C over or in extreme load situations, several *C over-than MBM detected!

Arrow Re: MBM5 is dead!

But it's more effort to buy and install temperature sensors than to install a software.
Also, how would you get the exact temperature on the chip surface? It's not really that good accessible, is it?

That might explain the higher measurement of MBM.
