Bash Limits Explained

Due to some recent confusion in #planetarion today, which wasnt helped by Squishy's nublet input (lo mate ) which did nothing except confuse the issue, i've decided to waste more of my time with this game to attempt to explain, with examples, the manner in which Planetarion handles Bash Limits.

Now, "Bash Limits" are where the game prevents you from launching (attack) fleets towards a planet as they are too small relative to your own planet. The idea is, Bash Limits prevent planets that are 'too' large from attacking planets that are too easy, and thus encourage more even fights between players of more equal ranks and abilities.

Now, presently the Manual describes these hard coded bash limits in the following way;

To illustrate this, take the following example.
Your Planet has 1 000 000 value, and 1 400 000 score.
There are four planets that you would like to attack, they are:
Planet 1: 800 000 value ; 1 300 000 score.
Planet 2: 399 999 value ; 900 000 score.
Planet 3: 500 000 value ; 600 000 score.
Planet 4: 200 000 value ; 400 000 score.

Now, 40% of your 1 000 000 value is 400 000.
60% of your 1 400 000 score is 840 000.

You vs Planet 1:
Value: 800 000 of value for Planet 1 > 400 000 Minimum Value
Score: 1 300 001 of score for Planet 1 > 840 000 Minimum Score.
Thus, you can attack this planet as the Bash Limit does not apply.

You vs Planet 2:
Value: 399 999 < 400 000 minimum value
Score: 900 000 > 840 000 minimum score.
Thus, Planet 2's value needs to be more than or equal to 400 000, thus your planet exceeds the bash limit in terms of value. However, as Planet 2's Score is within the bash limit, you can still attack this planet.

You vs Planet 3:
Value: 500 000 > 400 000 minimum value
Score: 600 000 < 840 000 minimum score.
Thus, Planet 3's value exceeds your minimum bash levels, however their Score does not - you are still permitted to attack this planet.

You vs Planet 4:
Value: 200 000 < 400 000 minimum value
Score: 400 000 < 840 000 minimum score.
Thus, both Planet 4's Value and Score fall below the 40/60% bash limit, and as a result you CANNOT attack this planet. ONLY these planets will be listed as "orange" on the galaxy page.

Now, to those concerned about it going the "other way", ie you are the person who is getting "bashed" by someone much larger than you, you can worked out your enemy's minimum values through this simple bit of algebra:

Your Value (1 000 000) * (100/40) = 1 000 000 * 2.5 = 2 500 000.
To check this answer, 2 500 000 * 0.4 = 1 000 000.
Your Score (1 400 000) * (100/60) = 1 400 000 * 1.666 = 2 333 333.
To check this answer, 2 333 333 * 0.6 = 1 400 000.

Thus, if a person exceed both 2.5 mil value and 2.3 mil score, they cannot attack you.
