Glasgow. Have i been away so long ......
Its odd , but ive returned here for the week , and found that basically , the city i was born in and lived in all my life has become very very **** indeed. Nobody can afford to socialise , nor can i find a single thing of interest to do here outside of the cinema and the pub.
And the women appear to have become very ugly overnight. Have my standards raised considerably, or was there a pox on the city when i left?
I NEED ANSWERS!

Maybe you've come to the realisation now that you have something to compare it to.

But previously , id compared it favourably to Edinburgh , Aberdeen , Dundee , Newcastle, London , Manchester , Liverpool and Newbury.
Why is it that i now find that , maybe , just maybe , the Isle of Man , for all its complete lack of facilities , appearst to have a greater percentage of good looking women.

Sweden is for gay people.
There is enough fun in Finland.
If we are talking about sexy women.

1.Snow = cold
2.cold = not go outside
3.not go outside + scandinaivan blondes

Possibly it's because you're now more mature.
nah, on second thoughts it can't be that.
As for the women, I'd plump for the higher standards option.

Glasgow women always fell into one of two catagories....mingers or babes.
Perhaps as its winter there arent that many tourists and the resident students don't want get out of bed cause its too cold for their southern softie blood.

Idiot.
Im a weegie, and with a little effort you can find something good to do every day. go to the peoples palace, go to the burrell collection, take a trip to the campsies (beutiful in winter) you have 2 of the best sports stadiums in britain, (and parkhead too) you have the west end, which every night is busy with studenty types. you could get a £10 bag down bridgeton. visit milngavie or go to balloch.
as for the women, if you are so good looking you can be selective, im an omnipotent demi-god from the middle echelon of greek mythology.
glasgow was city of culture
glasgow had the european flower festival
glasgow has rangers
glasgow's better by miles (spot the sign on the m8 into the city )

I just spent a great 2 days in Glasgow.
Saturday: sat in, watched About A boy without wanting to kill Hugh Grant ( an amazing occurance) while eating pizza and pringles.
Sunday: went to pizza hut, went to waterstones and purchased 'Are YOU Dave Gorman?' which so far is excellent. Lounged in hotel for a bit then went to Borders and purchased the Monopoly card game purely because I was intrigued. Went to The Counting House for food and a pint, then purchased some wine and kettle chips and went back to hotel to lounge some more. In between doing all of this, phoned nod repeatedly and left nasty message on his answerphone, only to discover he has purchased a new mobile. Damn him!

If you mean the Glasgow Garden festival, I was still in Primary school at the time, making it a good 15 years ago, so I don't think you can claim this as something that proves how great Glasgow is. It's like saying England are good at football because they won the world cup in 1966.
If you mean something different then I am an ignorant **** who pays no attention to what is going on in her own country.
Btw Kura - I swear I saw you on Sunday, you were on the underground, you got off at St George's Cross, it was just before midday :p

u also forget that some apparently funny ppl live there
oh - there's plenty to laugh at of ppl's accents - "I'd like a wee sawseege end a coup of cofeh plz ta"

Has something been changed? I thought it was on Wednesday night, not tomorrow.
(If anyone tells me that tomorrow is Wednesday because it's now after midnight I will scream)
Afaik it's the Counting House, I assume around 7 or 8pm. Don't expect Nod to know anything, he rarely does.

Depends which station you arrive at... if you come in at Queen street its easy - walk out of the main exit and straight ahead and you'll come to it. If it's Central its a 5 minute walk, but I am sure someone will meet you anyway if you aren't sure.

You arrive in Queen St Station.
You exist via the "Burger King" exit.
You walk down Queen St (that's the Street heading away from the station in the direction you exit the station from).
As you are walking down Queen St you initially walk down one of the sides of Georges Square.
At the bottom right hand side of Georges Square is the Counting House.

I was under the impression that it was supposed to take place on Wednesday night.
However ... Torz says he can't make Wednesday so i don't know if it's been changed without me being informed.

Oh for god sake.
I have been away for the weekend and thus wasn't made aware of any changes. If only I had gone up to that guy on the underground that I thought was Kura, all would have been fine :(

It best be wednesday
Arianna and Sunday8pm shall be in attendance too.
Now don't go running away.
Kura I'm inclned to agree with you but moreover the fact that there's a horrid lack of advertising of accessable things to do.
Twas impossible on the sunday to find anything remotely to do in glasgow when I was there with two mates.
Couldn't find anything informative to any avail and I had already done the glasgow science centre which is decent for adults as well.
