As you can probably guess from the co-ords I wasn't that easy to scan this round. Our bp all went terran and distwhored, along with a good chunk of the rest of ascendancy. It worked out fairly well in the end with 4 top 60 planets and heartless who was staggeringly inactive, it took him two and a half weeks to even hit 1k roids. We didn't get real incs until ct/nd/vgn hit our gal around pt 500 or so after seemingly staggeringly overrating the strength of ascendancy's position. Amusingly our ct galmate exiled in that night and had his hc demanding he hand over gal statuses. Got a good xan from rock before that and an urwins and a tgv who exiled in when I saw 11.7 advertising they'd have free slots at pt whatever and I exiled planets so we'd steal the people trying to exile there

Disappointing enough round alliance wise, we crashed far too many fleets and we didn't really do anything that interesting although the whole sking conflict was cool. Overall I found terran pretty strong defensively with good faking options, personal favourite being chims/dems/levs on etds. The de fleet really needed a viable targetting option without faking but that would be my only complaint. Someone really needs to do something about cathaar though.

Highlights of the round were the first attempt to sk me and the second attempt to sk me. Also using shadows/wyverns to def xan fr/de inc on on achi when ct hit my gal and presumed it was just a fake bomber fleet (although sun_tzu will claim credit for that one but it was my idea in advance!) 1.2 mil value dead or something like that.

i'm not gonna type as much as JBG, mostly because its pretty much the same story. 4:8 was supposed to be another Ascendancy disting galaxy, but some people claimed they didn't get the memo etc which led to everyone but 2-3 people being attacked whenever we got raided (until the sk fest ofc).

<Munin> Galaxies with at least 10 bums from Ascendancy: 4:8 (10)

shame we didn't finish higher galaxy wise, but when 4 people crash their entire fleet on a regular basis you can't really expect to finish higher good job fencing Champ and was great getting to play in the same gal as ya Foxman - too bad your fleet got eaten by fake ally defense.

I like most of asc distwhored this round. It worked out okay, not that many incs but most of the incs i got landed :\
Offensively i landed quite a large number of my attacks, unfortunately every time i attacked someone larger then me def was inevitable. Chims + bs pods was a great combo though, got alot of roids that way.
I really struggled late round having a big roidcount and low income due to dists and got all manner of stupid incs from 11.7(their crap fakes got a huge total of 0 roids from 12(?) waves).

I doubt im gonna try doing pure dists again, the drawback in resources is just to much for my liking.

My round was spent trying to regain the roids I lost every time I'd managed to regain them. That pretty much sums it up. I managed to get above 2k roids once, and lost them 3 days later. I rather liked playing zik, but some glaring issues such as the complete inability to do anything to de-incs did get on my nerves at times. Also being ridiculously high value(because of having to maintain 3 effective roidingfleets at all times) meant that I got more than a few people suiciding for xp(which further contributed to my constant shortage of roids).

I'd probably have played this round quite differently in hindsight, although I think I would still pick zik. Also, in hindsight, I blame Foxman for telling me Asc was a good alliance to join Had I defwhored in CT I could have rocked!

Me and my gal had an easy start. as always we where fair inactive. around pt 500 the big inc started and we dropped 15 places. the gal stayed around place 25. There where no big alli wars into my gal, so mostly full gal raids.

As planet. Builded mainly Co's and attacked with Rhino (etd) and Headfuk (Zik) mainly very big terrans. We took some nice roids and we crashed some fleets now and then. Even somethimes we got angry mails with why the hell we landed on that def. So in all I had a very fun rnd

my bp as always containted Walldo Rhino Phatman Beast and our pt 336 joiner Headfuk. 22 rnds togheter and still counting up !!!

Headfuk ended with a score of 2,5 M. Not bad at all m8.

Ty all friends and foes for this rnd

Joined a last minute BP right before the shuffle, which didn't turn out too good. Was lucky enough to exile into 3.5 at roughly tick 600, awesome gal. Started to get a lot of incs from ct/nd at the time i exiled into 3.5, and my new galmates sure loved all the salvage they got from the countless de fleets crashing at my planet

decent round, fun ally (ASS) and great gal

As usual played as a part time player, part time scanner for #tran.. wanted a top 100 spot, but woke up to 24 incoming hostile fleets on the morning of the final day.... ended up losing 1700 roids, 23 structures, and lost half of my destroyer fleet crashing an attack coz i was damned if i did and damned if i didnt.

Thankx to Zaejii for helping me work out how to get 750 xp in one tick (the final tick) so I could beat my housemate on xp suprised i finished so high on xp.... only got told i was doing well like two days ago...and suprised coz i hate xp whores!

o and my hidden production got stuck thnx to todays structure killers and a bug in the game /me glares at appoco! that sucked but pretty much summed up a bad bad bad final day for me

o yah and the whole asc sk thing....didnt i suggest that idea on the forums like 2 rounds ago and every1 said it was a really dumb idea? funny that post of mine seems to have been deleted /me looks at JBG

What can i say, i was shit. I was inactive basically all round after i got structure killed. I just thought terran was horribly boring. XP'd into the t100 last day and with the 75mill total in salvage nd/ct donated to me via eskeros de incs...

i nubbed it twice this last week though, hidden peg prod coming out into incs. bye 230k value and today lost another 200k..

The joys of dist whoring.

Re: Who we were

Can everyone please bear in mind when pasting links scans/combat reports from the PA servers that they'll expire when the next round starts.

For the sake of posterity I'd be grateful if people could either find an external host that won't wipe them or just summarise them in the thread.

A pretty quiet round over all, was pretty much the only ter in asc that didn't dist whore, combined with not being in a asc heavy gal meant i avoided most of the big sk waves and whatnot. Maxed cons as demo about tick 800, ended up with about 30 odd dist 30 facts, 60 fc's and 30 ish sc's. Pretty glad i didnt dist in the end considering i was getting more res than pretty much all of the dist whores even with 800-900 less roids.

Had 2 big prods during the round, let the first one out about 4/5 weeks in and the last one came out in 2 parts with about 100k chims a few days ago and 130k pegs this morning. Only had chims/pegs in prod, to mess up co/bs incs mostly, ended up with a truck load of chims as they were far superior anti cr/bs than attempting to flak either bs with rangers eff or de vs tycoons. their wasnt a vast amount one could do vs fr/de as a ter without taking huge losses so it was mostly a case of getting shadows ingal for them. Tried to make my planet as self sufficient as possible for the most part, think i got like 2 oog def fleets all round.

My fleet was pretty defensive, with the emphasis on not losing so many roids as opposed to out roiding losses and had trouble landing solo all round. attacked with cr/bs in one fleet then faking harpies + pods in another, probably had more success with the fake than the real thing. Only really used fr/de to attack with once when we hit 11 7 and ended up fc'ing some poor guys bw's from ingal def that tzu ended up stealing.

big thanks to my gal that deffed me all round as well.

Fleet negligible, 6k bs.

Played a scanner again. Was planning on being one of those "I don't miss ticks at all ever" people, but due to the fact that my internet connection died before round start and hasn't been restored since (though attempts are being made on a daily basis!), I ended up with 133(?) amps. Spent most of the round preventing my gal from disbanding, got SK'ed twice, lost 4 amps in total, was probably below the radar of the real SK fest.

Didn't do the whole dist thing either, I know myself well enough to know my limits when it comes to activity.
Wasn't planning on playing properly, no BP or anything before tickstart. The plan was to dick around and sk people, but then a great BP had a spot open around tick 25. (Alki, Stoom, Jester and Lokken). Did a couple of nice fakes, hid a lot of ships that didn't kill as much value as hoped but more then I thought, and all in all ****ed up quit a lot of value at others.

Two bad crashes due to work but that's part of a round. A fun round due to faking early round and destroying value/sking mid-round. But too ****ing boring endgame.

Originally I had been attacking with Cr/Bs mainly, but *all* my incs were BS so I could never launch my CR anymore so I switched over to Co for attacking (with zik attack partner) and Dealer/Ranger for def. The amount of times I prelaunched Dealer for out of gal def was crazy, well done to our DCs on catching those STOOM co fleets on prelaunch again and again. I crashed all my brokers on in gal def one night, which actually worked out really well as I rebuilt all Co from the salvage and lost almost no score. I didn't build any Dist, concentrated on FC and SC. My galaxy was very interesting, at tick 336 we were ranked about 45th, I tried to find someone to join late, but no one would due to score. We kept motivated and exiling ppl, and got really lucky with exiles. I had 0 other Urwins in my BP, after the shuffle we had a total of 3 in gal (including a scanner) and after about a week we had 6 Urwins. That made ingal def really strong for us, while I had thought having many from the same ally in 1 gal was a bad strategy, it really wasn't. We finished with 7 Urwins in gal. (I still find this funny.) We kept attacking and defending and the gal finished 7th overall, so we had quiet a climb from the bottom. Special shoutout to BlueAdept, you rock! If you unretire I would gladly BP with you again!

I had a far more successful round than I could have possibly hoped for. Having decided to BP with Dreamz at the end of last round, our BG was only finalised in the hours before tickstart, and as a consequence was nowhere near as strong as it should have been.
We lost Cheek, one of our BPers early, and our randoms weren't that great, with a few exceptions (Koyochi), but we strived on, with Dreamz, Hude and I doing well. Unfortunately after Hude was SKed he decided to exile, weakening the galaxy badly.
At this stage I decided to dedicate myself to trying to help Dreamz get the #1 spot as he looked like he might be able to pull it off, but after fighting off big incs and defleeching pretty crazily he got roided and his activity seriously declined from then on.
I never had many incs, only really when ptargetted, but struggled to roid successfully due to the availability of anti-bs and the crappiness of terran de but because I didn't lose many roids this wasn't a huge factor. I just kept plugging away and occasionally got roids.

being TGV and never involved in any alliance wars or anything I had quite a quiet round until the last week where we had continual incommings (had been hoping to get some sleep by then ) basically played defensively sending alot of defence to my alliance and always keeping my roidrank lower than my value rank seemed to work, no going after xp for me this round. Good bp who was always willing to cover the incs that TGV did not, should have been more proactive on the exiling hence half the galaxy was totally inactive, I naïvely thought we might be able to try make nice active players out of them, by the time I realised the mistake it was too late (11:2 must be the only gal which 1st exiled someone in the 2nd last week)

quiet round, did ter dist whore + quests to get early research advantage and faster bs.
got roided 3 times this round, 2 of those where crashes. noobed in the 1st part of the round the fake bs waves too much.. suicided lots of harpies which wasnt neccesary if i used chimeras on etd to fake with instead.
had since pt634 no incs till the last night of this round. so could always 2 or even 3 fleet def my bp.

I accidentally let my hidden pegs out at a wrong moment

I was disting so I got first real mass incs around tick 500. Second time I got attacked around tick 850. Then I got scannable somewhere after tick 1000 and got roided to hell and back. As you can see its not that easy to get value with that tactic due to very slow research (having to be immune to covops and having to do other than mining research) even if you can sit hundreds of ticks on your roids.

I joined the round at 349 I think so had a slow start. I didn't really receive any donations until the last 100 ticks of the round, although I did have a couple before them, once when we had incs and the gal wanted shadows and the other time when I had half my fleet decimated while defending in gal. The donations in the last 100 ticks were when the alliance fund was gettin cleared out. Oh and also when jer crashed my fleet on a teamup.

My personal battle of the round was with Heartless and he won and I hate him

Once again I have finished in a top 5 galaxy, having played only two rounds (the other was R21), I can honestly say I am great!

BP'ed with damo8 from ND, and DemonatriX, snuffy and Foo from CT.

I came back close to right before roundstart, and wasnt really looking for a BP, got in the said one.
Started out very good, i got massive roids, and at around tick 400-500 i had 1300 roids as a terran, and was starting to get very hard to hit. I kept my value around t20 at that point, and life was great.
Then i got roided down to around 700 or so, and had a hard time getting them back. There was way too much anti-BS flying around, and i felt they were all deffing me. Landed quite some fakes, but mostly it was my BS flying around and my DE was sometimes used to try to catch CO incs on some ND member.

It's the most boring round i've played, I have allways been used to having massive incs, and not going many days between it.

My plan was basically to spend the round covopping and SKing. I blew up a lot of amps/dists (more amps). I also launched around 30 or so times on Germania (never got through though ).

Later I picked up some DE and started gathering some XP so my score contribution to the tag wouldn't be totally worthless.

Overall a good round, the SK wars were particularly fun. I even got SKed once or twice.

Another cov opper focused on destroying other allies amps (quite effectively too), with some scanning done as the round got going. Once again went horribly inactive half way through, and did bugger all for the last weeks.

R25 was my first round in years (I played r3-9 but made no impression on anyone ) I was amazed by how well I did (I thought others would have more hidden than they did expected to be about 40 - 45th). lost a lot of roids last day to 25 ND fleets, which seems a lot to a n00b like me even if not much by universe standards. Big shout to everyone in 2:9 I really enjoyed it and thought 6th was good tho I get the impression U guys were disappointed. Big thank you to Subh, I wasn't a defsink or a flagship honest!

Decent start as a xan, but nothing very exciting. Most fun was when i got to land pure illu fleets on terrans who had run everything away. Only happened a few times though.
Even though i could attack ANY etd or terran out there with zero loss, i almost never landed in the last weeks. Xan FR seriously sucked, xan fi....lol. not even worth getting into that.

Awful planet, but I had a great time because I got to play idle and get proper sleep every night. I distwhored at first was 3rd before getting bashed (3rd most roids lost, spectres fleetcaught and lost ~25-30 dists). Eventually abandoned the sinking ship that was the galaxy I randomed into and got into 10:5, which was great.

Props to Urwins for keeping my planet down; your excellent defence stopped 20 out of 20 attacks in one week. Xand frigs are awful late game if you have to use them in a war. Also, the whole bomber thing was annoying. I lost about 400k bombers to people splatting on me or my defence throughout the round. They expected me to run, if, for example, they lost 400k value and I lost 70k after salvage. I have nfi what was going through their heads, I even told them I wasn't going to run and sent previous breports, but still they landed and each of them lost ~100-200k score even after XP

My planet was poor, but I had great fun advising ND HC and occasionally being allowed to get involved. Urwins were partly my obsession since I thought they were the strongest alliance, so apologies for your lack of sleep reese

Was a busy as hell round. Started preround with me leaving Urwins to join InSomnia (for BP spread), and then eksero abandoning BP few days before tick start due to inet issues. Exiled from BP about tick 300 after being triple booked+ for the 5th time. Landed in an ok gal where still i received heavy inc until ND/CT/Urwins started p targetting each other.

Joining InS was a terrible mistake, HC went missing as soon as ticks started. I was running attacks daily, DC'ing thro the night several days and trying to keep InSomnia in the political game. Got fed up of this around tick 600 (I didnt signup to HC a bunch of players i dont even know that were less than appreciative/co-operative) and left (with my focus turning predominantly towards my planet rank at this point). Was allianceless til VGN accepted me, was kicked shortly after for attacking solo (their targets were pretty useless for me). Eventually ended up where i'd started, back in Urwins having managed to avoid being p targetted mostly until CT/ND found out (apparantly a lot later).

Was never expecting to finish top 20, especially after the amount of fleets i "crashed", roids i lost, incs i received and the whole not having a stable ally/gal most of the round. But hey, i enjoyed it i guess :P

Size: 528 677
Value: 1,397,846 547
Score: 3,532,226 329
XP: 35,573 76

Total Round Roids: 2,225
Total Lost Roids: 1,697

Total Attacks: 42
Total Defences: 60
Total Launches: 102

Fleet: summat like 360k co, 15k ranger, 2500 tycoon.

This round was doomed by first losing my cr fleet due to a meeting that took somewhat longer than planned (bureaucracy ftw!) and after that crashing 130k co into hidden prod dealers. After that purely focused on building co and xp whoring by teaming up. That went pretty well :P
I got 5-waved almost everytime I had 500 roids, probably by having low value/high score relatively. Still, 5 waves? Easy roids I guess

This round pretty much s*cked for ETD as the cr fleet couldnt actually land without heavy losses. The co fleet was okay, but still you needed team up with a zik and/or another ETD to land a decent target. In short, I will not easily play this race again, whatah mistakah to makah.
Zik/ Xan/Ter are for me the most stable and enjoyable races
My gal was okay, many def whores. On the one hand positive, at the other hand it made climbing galranks hard. I enjoyed my gal, did not enjoy the round tbh for many reasons.

Total Lost Roids: 3,905 28

Ticks Roiding: 42
Ticks Roided: 16 (+2)

Started off with no real intentions of playing actively at all. Went for mass CO and xp whoring right from the start and carried on until about tick 300 in the same fashion. Exiled into 11.7 and changed my game plan a bit to suit value more. Continued with the CO fleet though and had a lot of success with a zik attack partner throughout, not having to recall a fleet for probably half the round.

Kept growing with very few incs and my value got too high to effecitvely xp whore anymore. Built up my tycoons and rangers and started trying to utilise the cr fleet a bit with very little success; think I landed them once on a huge teamup. Oh and all the xan fi came from a crash on bigbad on the last day :O

Ended up with about 800k value trapped in production after Urwins landed SKs on me with 6 ticks to go. Was pretty bad luck to lose 2 of each factory I couldn't afford to lose I think but fortunately didn't cost me a rank in the end.

Lucky exile, few crashes and great ally def despite being out of tag for almost the whole round led to my best round yet

Just a question, as 800k wouldn't have been enough anyways so it didn't make a difference, but did you cancel the order to get the value of the resources back?

Re: Who we were

Yeah I did, but at that stage the (2) orders were worth about 2-3mil of each so it was pretty neglible.

Re: Who we were

A Distinct Lack of Motivation (11:2:12) Zik

Ships (36,320 total) (Ship Analysis) [Hide]
Scarab 5,639 Black Widow 3,285
Thief 5,000 Buccaneer 16,514
Clipper 4,977 Ironclad 905

Maintained about 200 roids or so I think...

I started this round with every intention of playing a covop planet, but quickly fell behind to to an increasing work schedule. Money wins

When I was checking in "actively" the first few weeks, I was stealing a fair amount of resources and knocking out amps/jammers for Ascendancy. I would like to have done more, but managed a good ratio of success despite limited attemps...finishing with 19 out of 24 attempts succeeding.

Launched only one attack against one of the cath bot planets in 1:1, hence the scarabs/widows.

I have to give props to booji and the rest of my galaxy for not exiling me despite my horrific lack of activity. Thanks guys, it was a pleasure!
