Re: hey google
Why couln't he have been born 2 days earlier so he would be paralysed just like Tom Cruise?!
Americans would never stand for a cripple in the White House.
Well not a physically impaired President anyway.

You need to read 'Our Dumb Century', because surely then you would realise that my post (immediately, I might add, prior to yours) is referring to an article with humourous intent on the subject of this 'FDR', and his incapacitation or lack of knowledge thereof.

Re: hey google
Franklin D. Roosevelt was elected President of the United States four times, even though he was a paralyzed victim of polio. The American people were aware that the President was lame from polio, but they were never informed of the extent of his disability. This was FDR’s “splendid deception”. This splendid deception was aided by the Secret Service who saw that the President was never allowed to appear crippled in public.

I wondered at that.
I thought you were only allowed to serve two terms as President.
I should maybe choose better quotes in the future.

To bad a stadium full of people watched him fall on his crippled ass when giving a speech. Everyone knew, it was just something you didn't talk about in desperate times cause he needed to look strong.

No law was made till after FDR limiting terms to two. Before that, it was a precedent followed by everyone that George Washington set that FDR broke.

For serious. They were fifth cousins.
I also found . this while searching for the exact info. It's scary what people will do to try and get kids to learn sometimes.

he earned a reputation as a compasionate conservative while governor of texas apparently, this is at the same time he executed (not sure if he actually hit them with the brick or if someone else did it) more people than any other governor.
