What swear words actually mean is not always related to how rude they are.
For instance, there is nothing inherently rude in the meanings of "shit" or "piss", and "shag" and "f***" mean basically the same thing and yet the former is far less rude than the latter.

I have no problem with any swearing, it's a facet of the language. But more people who are offender by bad language are going to be tolerant of 'Bastard' than '****'

Re: Bad Words
Actually i shall rant longer.
WHY DID YOU NEED SOMETHING THAT DIDNT NEED TO BE CHANGED?
Had you received loads of complaints from angry parents complaining that their kids (who already know the words) were seeing them again.
If so why cant you tell us that (ie the reason for the change when the change occurs).
I like the swear filter off as it enables me to express myself better.
Or as is more likely you (Karm) just wanted to **** with stuff because he could SO CAN YOU PLEASE RETURN THINGS TO THE WAY THEY WERE YESTERDAY (swear filter wise).

Re: Bad Words
Logically, swear filters don't make much sense.
Either people have heard of the words before, in which case seeing them again won't make much difference, or they haven't and can't be offended by them, as they don't know what they mean.

if censoring was about content rather than convention then piss-guzzling badger-buggering pidgeon-tossing man-jam-addicted son-of-your-mother's-brother would be on the censor.

i said the censor should be turned back on so people would be more creative, blame me if you want.
