Part 1: Question to the creators

Late (or was it after), last round we got to see a bit of the new gfx. If i recall correctly it was pretty much completed wasnt it?
Why not give us them for this round?

Part 2: For the rest

Which gfx do you like the best?
Which gfx if any, cant you stand?

Stuff like that :]

As for me, Cathaar and Xand are my favs, after 2 rounds with Cath i grew kinda tired of it though..and now i feel kinda 'done' with Xand's after last round aswell, still think thats the best one though.
I would love to be Zik for a round, IF something could happen to their gfx...it is imo utterly poo to look at

Terran is 'ok', feels kinda cheap and simple, and the fonts could use a bit of work.

they were 'incompatible'. my only conclusion to this is that they were designed to fit in different sized tables to the old ones, thus would have made it damn awkward to resize and rebuild tables. but thats just hypothetical, i really have no idea why they were incompatible.

ive only ever known cath, so cant realy comment here. (well, ive seen the rest, but clearly in not as much detail as the rest) personally i preferred the rnd5 (i think) cath where they had the humanoid in the top left, as opposed to the ship thing we have now.

i think the zik is not the best but second best after cat, i use the zik on the forums thou, as its nice there, everyone shoudl try it.

I thought it might have. I'd better post my views here as well then. Maybe more comprehensive this time.

1 Cathaar, I like this gfx best, it's smooth, it takes little place - lots of room for other windows, it doesn't detract much from the gaming.

2. Zikonian, my 2nd favourite. Even less distracting colors than Cathaar, lots of room for other windows here too. I wish they'd use normal letters in the manu rather than the gfx though, this would be an improvement.

3/4 Xandathrii and Terran, lots of nasty colors and/or a huge font, forcing me to use a larger part of the screen for PA, and alt tabbing to get irc instead of tiling the windows.

On a whole, I have 2 wishes for the gfx.

1. Make the race pic smaller, same width as the menu to save space. This would save many pixels width.

2. provide a no gfx option.

hey, I do like the Zik design most, Terran looks cheap, you're right, Xan is too much green for my flavour and Cat is too dark

To Pacrew:

1. Make a use of the 'new' gfx, they are overall better than the once now..
2. Make a text-only theme, wich could be choosed from the preference screen.. Would be ideal on older rigs, and for people with a low bandwith..

I personally still prefer the Round 5 graphics above all the newer ones. And as I said before, I don't particularly like those new race-specific graphics (apart from the Zikonian one, which does rock a tad).

I didn't know this was a choice. I only picked from the current race gfx.

Seriously, the menu is great, not too much not to little, and its thin. Use this for the new round(ofcourse remove the "Hosted by chello" pic

.

And ofcourse a text-only version would be awesome..

nope.

As long as no sizes are specified for either images or table elements, then in most browsers the tables will autosize their elements based on the image size that is being displayed.

The graphics were never incorporated because that would have entailed "work". I still maintain that the "creators" do as little as possible for this game as long as the money keeps coming in.

Note - before Wakey starts up on me:

I am not saying that it is bad to collect money (money is good), or that the game should be free (I like p2p, less multis), or that they are not allowed to make money (I'm all for people making money), or that they are getting rich (I don't care).

I'm just commenting on the fact that I don't believe that the "creators" actually do anything other than kick the server now and again, and change the stats at the beginning of each round.

Grendel's original was great, but due to many things I had to ask some other do to create a new one, it was never used anyway so does it really matter whether it was **** or not?

P.S.: Grendel, I spent a whole 2* hours looking for you when we needed that new Cathaar interface :/ Couldn't find you so had to use someone else.

*2 hours being 1 hour 59 minutes more that I could afford :/
