Why is it...
Wondering if this afflicts anyone else
Why is it that thelower the post frequency and the larger the number of threads on the front page that have already been read, the greater the need I feel to check GD as often as possible to see if anything has changed.
If the entire front page is orange (retro v2 /o/) I might not have the urge to check it again for a day. But once it's all gone grey....

Especially when I should be in bed

I get this. It's more to do with how many threads have already developed. I dislike joining a thread two or three pages in (although I still do). It's much better when you can keep track of things, etc. Which is why I have no desire to go to a "busier" forum.
