ANTHONY CHARLES LYNTON BLAIR FOR PRESIDENT - YOU KNOW IT MAKES SENSE.

Incidentally, I never knew that there was a 'genetic' clause for Presidential hopefulls - you have to be born in The US, or born to US parents.

'Disturbing'.

I suppose it's heartwarming that there are still people out there in the world that don't know how bad Blair is as a leader once you scratch the surface. Possibly. Or not.

Endorse anything that appears 'popular' to your Press Secretary and Chief of Staff. Allienate the right of your party, and make the left of it hate you. Don't think about policies; just do them. Since The Vice-Presidency is possibly the most pointless and purposeless political position ever devised, I'd chose The Queen, or possibly Charles Kennedy. Mabye even Iain Duncan-Smith. They would all have lots of experience required for the job.

Blair is truly awful. Things seemed to be going well from the first two years of his government (probably reaping benefits off the tories) but after that things have only got progressively worse.

On the home front he's been nothing short of inept as all the ministers with expertise are now gone, and he's left with quite a few of his cronies who quite frankly aren't up to the job. Blair has benefited from a wave of hate in the population against the Tories (it's as if they are a bad word) and then secondly from the fact that no leader has been able to realistically oppose him for one reason or another. There has been no opposition to hold him to account and as his party wants to stay in power (which is fair enough) they will almost always vote in favour of reform.

He's become a man obsessed with popularity, power and spin. He's not gone out to solve the problems in Education and the Health Service by giving them more independence to work out things themselves (they know better than any MP/Civil Servant). By simply throwing money at problems, they won't go away.

How the hell can he govern when he's rarely in the country anyway.

I think it's the same in most countries (that have presidents).
A few years ago in Argentina (or some other Latin American country) there was a big fuss because there were rumours that the president was actually born in Japan, which would have made his presidency illegal.

Privatisation is not a cure-all. It's not even a cure-some. The services should have proper reform to make them more efficent, and less bureaucratic, as well as proper amounts of investment. Privaitsation does not mean happy happy joy joy, and neither does nationalisation. They are to apply where appropriate.

Well, in traditional economic terms, probably Alan Greenspan if you want to name one person (which is dumb).

In actual real terms, the upturn was a combination of global factors - increased productivity gains from IT investment, misery reaped from immiseration of certain sections of the world, longer working hours by large sectors of the "advanced world", relative drop in oil prices, credit splurges and so on. There's loads of other stuff obviously.

That's my explanation. Come to think of it, that's my explanation of anything economic.

Pretty much anybody can be a state Governor (see Ventura, Jesse).

yes, and i hear a majority of people electing you is an optional extra.

if the UK was to become part of the USA then blair could be president then (well, 14 years after we joined anyway)
