Moving to London
......................................................
I don't want to die in a stupid American Hospital, because I don't have $50,000 to perform open heart surgery or some shit. I would rather move to the UK, than just die so I won't put my family in debt. ffs

Man I work with recently got a heart transplant. Having a job, he had insurance. Insurance footed the bill. No particular financial strain. Yes, that is hell. People should flee to Canada. He could have died while waiting his turn in line to be seen by the doctor.
I recently saw that the British Healt Service (or whatever it is called) was excited as they were begining to meet their goal of holding the time from diagnosis to procedure down to a mere 18 weeks.

The NHS gets slated quite a lot, but when it is a genuine emergency or drastic then they're really quick and on the ball. The cancer department, for example (what?! personal expericne fq), is run very slickly. I find it slightly amusing when I hear how it takes people weeks for blood test results to come back, when all you need is a little "Fast-track" stamp and you can get them done in about 40 minutes.
I think it's the same for things like heart attacks and other life-threatening problems. When I first went in with the possible symptoms of lymphoma, I was rushed through. I couldn't understand at the time, as there were people with homemade bandages over their hands and blood dripping out of them, and people groaning and moaning in the waiting room. I thought I just had a bit of a chest infection - I certainly didn't LOOK like there was much wrong with me. Luckily the NHS realised and rushed me through.
When it comes to someone who has their head stuck in a saucepan, they will leave you waiting for hours. That's just unfortunate - sure you're uncomfortable and probably in pain, but there simply are others who are regarded as a higher priority.

Re: Moving to London
Pah (it was SW2 when I lived there!) - it's right on the border between SW and SE, but I still don't think of it as South West London. Stupid compassses!

There isn't an S postcode, whereas there are NW and N postcodes. It's all a bit confusing, but you can thank urban sprawl for that.
London has N, NW, SW, SE, W, WC, E and EC postcodes.
A map of the postcodes, geographically.

Re: Moving to London
There are other postcodes that do fall under the Greater London region and can be found in the London A-Z.
The postcodes are here: http://www.motorwaymap.co.uk/block.htm
