Let us consider the infanite sum...
S = 1+1-1+1-1+1-1+1-1+1-1+1-1+1-1+1-1+1-1+1-1+1-1+1-1+1........
hence
S = 1+(1-1)+(1-1)+(1-1)+(1-1)..............
= 1+0+0+0+0+0+0+0+0+..........
=1
But
S = (1+1)-(1+1)-(1+1)-(1+1)-(1+1)-.......
= 2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-2-............
= - infinity
Hence 1 = - infinity

The equations you refer to are fundamentally different.
BTW, negative infinity is zero

Thus
S = (1-1)+(1-1)+(1-1)+(1-1)+(1-1)+.......
but
S = 1-(1-1)-(1-1)-(1-1)-(1-1)..............
S = 1 - [(1-1)+(1-1)+(1-1)+(1-1)+(1-1)+.......]
S = 1-S
Therefore S = 1 - S
Therefore S = 0.5

The 2 equations aren't equivalent
You're ignoring the minus sign at the front of the bracket that reverses the addition operations inside the bracket

Infinity > Negative Infinity
Infinity > Zero
Zero > -Infinity
Thus zero can't be equal to negative infinity.
As infinity cannot be zero.

Yes
0 is a member of the set of integers {....-4, -3, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4....}
This is a subset of the real numbers.
However 0 is not a member of the natural numbers {1, 2, 3, 4, 5.....}

Yeah, we keep getting it drummed into us by one lecturer that zero is, and another that it isn't. Doesn't matter as long as you define what you're doing properly...

As far as I am concerned (and as far as I have been taught) 0 is NOT a member of the set of natural numbers. Thus, unless the question or example specifically includes it, I shall not.
