Digital video cameras
I would like to know two things:

a) Where can I find good reviews or opinions on various models
b) Where is a reputable place to get them from

Please, UK answers only for "b" ta
I know places like argos sell them but they're hardly the fount of all knowledge when it comes to specifications etc. One place I've thought of so far is Jessops as I got my 35mm camera from them and they knew what they were talking about.
Any other suggestions are most welcome though.

well places like Jessops and camera dealers are good for information. so get the info from them and then see if Argos sell it for less. the warrantty is usually the same though admittedly places like dixons and so on are usually desparate to sell you insurance as well.

Jessops will price match. (They'll even price match websites, eg. Amazon).

What's the deal with 3CCD anyway? Is it one per colour (RGB)?

Sony and panasonic are decent makes for digital camcorders.
Sony centre and Dixons may be your best bet for advice.
do a bit of shopping around though.

A warranty would be worth considering. They're small, expensive and easily dropped.

I've been looking around and asking for advise on a video/photo camera combo because I wanted one to primarilly shoot photo's but also make a few video's. The problem is that the resolution of the current video camera's is not good enough for photography. I'm trying to say with this that you should keep in mind what you want to do with this equipment. If you're primarilly interested in making photographs you should go for a photocamera, because you might be disappointed by the video camera's quality.

Other than that, I can't point out anything usefull.

I have a 3MP digital still camera that is good enough for me (photo quality prints at A4 size).
People who want their video cameras to do stills or vice versa always perplex me, as the two roles are quite different. Much better to have two dedicated peices of equipment that does it properly, rather than one single peice that does one (or both) badly.
