Here's the question, short format:
If a very attractive girl you knew revealed that she had sex with on the order of 25 guys, would that significantly affect your opinion of her/desire to screw her?

Discussion format:
So I know this girl. And she is like really hot. Anyway, she was out at the bar with some of my friends the other night, and mentioned that she had had sex with (21?) guys. My friends (who previously thought about nothing but how to get in her pants) were largely turned off.

My line of thinking: if I could **** any girl I wanted to, you can be damn sure I would have done a whole hell of a lot more than 21 chicks. We are talking orders of magnitude. In addition to that, she moved around a lot (traveled through Europe for a year or two etc.) and so even on the boyfriend plan, she's racking up some score just when she starts living in a new place and gets a new boyfriend.

My real opinion on the slut factor is that the number doesn't matter, what matters is behaviour. And she wasn't at all promiscuous (that's a horrible way for a word to be spelled

). If a girl is willing to put it up easily, that's a turnoff to me (perhaps even more so if she puts out easy and no one has taken her up on it). If she doesn't, then she gets my respect regardless of her number.

she'd never claimed anything before. met her in august, she was still 'dating' someone in Germany all Fall, but that's quite a long distance relationship. Never came close to cheating on him.

agreed. What she's done and what she's doing are often different things.

Nevermind, holding her to a different standard than you hold yourself is a tad ****ed up to begin with. Guys who get hung up on women with histories, while they're busy racking one up themselves, are usually a bit vain and stupid anyway.

its not being a hypocrite. i and many others, inc acros friends dont find a highly sexed woman to be attractive. whether thats chavanist or whatever, who gives a ****. Its not cool to judge her on this though, unless (for me anyway) she gave you a different impression in the past. Id feel the same about a guy doing that though, for example, claiming indifference then being sleazy with my female friends on the sly, etc.

This is a pretty big variable. I mean, it could be anything from 12 to 21. If she's been having sex for a decade (realistic possibility) then twenty odd partners isn't many.

No, i would not be turned of, or more on. It's equal, i migth just think extra hard on remebering condoms if the chance ever gets up, but nothing more.

If she was obviously a person who says yes to whoever that want's it, i would be more carefull. But just having sex whit 20 odd persons is nothing really dangerous.

i would guess that the standard deviation for women is much much bigger though. i know a lot of women that have had sex with 0-2, and a lot that have had it with most people in the county, and little in between. guys tend the 2-6 range.

It depends on how well I knew her. At that age, on paper I would be put right off. To me it suggests that she has slept around on a casual basis and not tried staying with one person, so If I were looking for something meaningful with her it would deter me. I would still shag her just because she is pretty and she can bump up my own score.

If you know her and know how she has come to have so many partners at such an age, then it probably wouldnt matter.

Personally I reckon she has been on the game and tried it for only one night, but racking up 15 guys before she left.

As W said, it's not (and I agreed).

But I theorized a much higher std dev for women, which in no way contradicts the "Principle of Identical Mean".

e.g., men are more likely to hit up prostitutes than women, so among the population of non-prostitute men and women (which I personally frequent), the mean would be higher among men.

Trick is that that requires a population with a ratio of men to women 1:3. Which we know isn't the case (maybe Berlin 'after the war'?).

More likely, you have your same situation except you have two other men who aren't getting any.
