Profiting from todays events?

Disclaimer: I am not in the know, I do not care too much about it. And I don't accuse anyone of anything.

I ask a simple question, just out of interest: Is there any alliance/block (if such a thing exists this round) out there which benefits from the rollback in general?

E.g. [Alliance] got roided badly by [Group] and now are prepared for the fleets which will automatically head for their targets again tomorrow.
Or: [People] started a big attack on a [Leet]-flagship gal, but got badly owned by defence without being able to recall due to the downtime.

Or were the consequences of this days events spread out evenly amongst the players?

I will not benefit as I got pretty roids today which will be gone again tomorrow

Re: Profiting from todays events?

I heard rumours that WAC is behind the rollback, need 2 have it confirmed though.

I think it's safe to say that all alliances out there is both gaining and losing from this.

I had to recall my attack so i couldnt care less about a rollback.....but on the other i got to own Fang when defending, and that will be undone

Re: Profiting from todays events?

What tick are we rolling back to anyways? It must have happened while I was sleeping, didn't notice any downtime.

Anyways, if it rolls back before my combats last night, I know I'll be recalling my broadswords which turned out to be defending against Hades. And hoping my attack is still a success.

Re: Profiting from todays events?

I got new shiny roids today without any losses. Why have a big planet with defence only against 2 ship classes?

Still: I do think that a rollback is fair for everyone.

Re: Profiting from todays events?

What I cant understand is why they have to recall all fleets. Why not just leave it the way it was before the server/pa went down? Is this possible or are the creators just trying to piss off even more pa players tonight?

Re: Profiting from todays events?

yes, they love pissing people off. that's why spinner told all those who dont like PAX to quit, etc...

rare for me to sleep through a downtime; shows how much i care about this round :s i care enough to be active though and get pissed off by rollbacks even though i profit from it (slightly) (i hope. assuming the alliance which launched a massive attack on my gal dont decide to try again with even more ships/different LT/whatever)

Re: Profiting from todays events?

rollbacks are something that NEVER should have happend*.
It just ads one more thing on the creators "****up" list.

They should just leave things like they are, and if they want some plausible explination to hand over to the gamers, call it "solar storms"**

Realy phatetic way of handeling things. Sometimes when something goes wrong, person a will get hurt, and person b will gain.
Another day person a will gain some cheap roids, and person b will be the "victim".

I remember spinner said along time ago that he would never do a rollback again, but then again, beliving creators is abit naive isnt it?
  • *Not this time, not anyother time, past, present or future.
** Solarstorms interfere with communication, and this way "base" would loose contact with their fleets thats heading for battle, virtualy leaving them on their own.

Re: Profiting from todays events?

the rollback situation is a 'fked if you do, fked if you don't' situation

remember some of you hate rollbacks.. but others complain just as loudly when there ISN'T a rollback.

Re: Profiting from todays events?

I understand the rollback, bbut am a bit pissed at how it handled. About 12 ticks before the rollback went to, my internet was completely down, I lost 145 broadswords and 110+ claymores. I'm a small planet so it hurt. LOTS!

I tried to get back on my feet, got ONE good night of roiding, first in ages, and finally got a respectable(ish) income to try and rebuild with. Now the juicy target I had is lost (will easily spend their res on updating their fleet to cover the weaknesses I exploited. I could (just about) live with them pulling the fleets. BUT NOT with them not allowing orders during the frozen ticks, I couldn't be online when they restarted so there's gone one attack which would have given me over 500k of resources (ie, my income was up over 25k of res in total, *24 until my next attack=600k) I stand to lose more if I don't have similarly successful strikes for the next few days.

The losses before nearly ruined my round, but my GC gave me some res quickly helping me to bounce back, and that raid had also helped me, now it's lost, and I'm pissed simply because they wouldn't allow you to give orders in downtime, the only time I could be on!!!!!!!!

*RANT OVER*
