What have I let myself in for?
This weekend myself and some friends are going to watch LOTR's 3, which in itself isnt so bad. However, and I dont quite know how it happened*, I have now got all said mates coming round to mine on Saturday afternoon for a marathon back to back viewing of the extended versions of LOTR's 1 and 2 - whats that, like 416 minutes or something. Plus I have to cook in between.
Has anyone done a session like this and what were the results? Did it like age you by 20 years or something? Maybe you lost your sight because of it? Help please.
*Oh, I remember now, its because I have the big TV and the surround sound system.

might do it when kill bill volume two comes out (watching the both of them at the cinema ofc) i must be the only person in the world who hasnt seen any of the lotr films. maybe if im feeling extremely bored one saturday i could do the marathon thing, probably not though.

Re: What have I let myself in for?
It would be better to wait for LOTR 3 extended to come out and take the true endurance test!
I find the first LOTR extended version a bit tedious though. The cinematic version is fine, the extra half hour really makes it drag.

It starts slowly, but then everything does. This is just longer.
The EE's are better though.

Re: What have I let myself in for?
Watching the first 45 minutes of the 2nd one bored me half to death. I havent bothered watching any of the others and certainly wouldnt watch all 3 of them in a row .

Re: What have I let myself in for?
Your experience will depend on if you've seen the films before, how you feel about them, and your feelings towards the book.
I watched the first and second back to back recently and enjoyed it a fair amount. But I like the films so I suppose I would. I wouldn't do it tired though, as you'll probably fall asleep. Pro-Plus all around!

You wouldn't like The Third Man or Citizen Kane then.
