I'd agree with poor upbringing can lead up to racism, but ppl with a good upbringing can also be racist, they just know how to conceal it better.

Actually I think they're a bit like creationists. The more time you give them and the poor room you give them to voice their quite vapid and wholly incorrect, but extremely complicated, views the more you'll confuse Joe and Mary who really don't think that much for themselves and like to read the truth in the newspapers and dislike subtlety and reading 6000 pages of scientific literature to actually realise one fundamental fact. The sad thing is that they're a growing movement and in the name of tolerance and acceptance they'll gain more followers and further develop their standpoint on certain issues until they seem to be making sense and you can't understand why they hate black people. Luckily for me I really don't give a flying **** when it all comes down to it. It's really the only way I ever make it through the day.

Oh yeah, they can muddy the waters quite well (and this has already happened with the Bell Curve) but their fundamental movement is full of rotten stupidity. I don't mean the whole "hating black people thing".

But racists on Stormfront are utterly obsessed with things like the holocaust, Jewish people, NAZIs, etc. Racists like that will never likely gain widestream support in the US or America. The idea of NAZI's handing out leaflets in London, parts of which were bombed to bits in WW2 makes me well, lolly roffle for want of a better term.

Obviously they started thinking like that at some point though. They're British and American as well and support the Nazis or whatever. It's not a statistically steady movement or anything so obviously they're influenced by something external (I swear to god I'll kill muslim if he replies to this with a post involving the word genes). As such it's not entirely unrealistic to imagine that at some point a large minority (certainly large enough to gain democratic representation at government level) of out and out white nationalists/supremacists/idiots could emerge.

Noone ever mentions that Africans were used as slaves in the Middle East for 1300-1400 years. You can still buy a black slave in Sudan from the Muslims that occupy the north of the country.

I was speaking historically.

The term "slavery" though is kind of a blanket one. Although they're all evil, I'm not sure if lumping together domestic slavery with chattel slavery, etc is helpful.

I don't think there are many explicit "slaves" right now, in the Gulf States I mean. There are people whose practical status is almost that of a slave due to violence, indenture, etc.

It's odd that Nation of Islam shunned the names given to them by the whites who took blacks as slaves, and replaced them with arab names, conveniently ignoring the extra thousand years plus of black slavery by arabs.

Noone ever said Prophet Muhammad was a native Arab as far as I know (not to say that he wasn't born in Saudi Arabia, but it has been said he may have been of russian descent, there is a lot of mention of trade journeys around the arab world so it isn't inconceivable) . Even Elijah Muhammad the original leader of Nation of Islam told people he was white.

I'm pretty sure what you and I would call white is different from what those who wrote the Hadith would call white. He was probably of fairer complexion than most Arabs but I'd say even that was exaggerated in order to attribute certain unique abilities and appearances to him.
