Incorrect Resource Calculation

Resource Type Asteroids Extraction Mines *Bonus Total Initiate
METAL 106 25.000 10.500 5.680 (16%) 41.180
CRYSTAL 105 24.750 5.500 4.840 (16%) 35.090
EONIUM 105 24.750 4.500 4.680 (16%) 33.930

As can be seen from the above only 298 roids are yielding resources.

This problem only occurs when the roid count passes the figure of 300 (in this case)

i.e At 300 roids exactly the yield shows as 25,000 of each.

Re: Incorrect Resource Calculation

Ok this may seem like a simplemexplanation. Maybe too simple.

But have you researched:

"Heavy Cargo Transfers IV"
Increases the number of asteroids you can mine efficiently to 500.

If not then this will be the problem. as you cant mine more then 300.

Re: Incorrect Resource Calculation

i think hes pointing out he has more than 300 roids, and can support up to 300, but is only gaining resources from 298, so 2 roids doing nothing :x

300 roids should yield a total of 75,000 resources, his only bring in 74,500

Second Resouce Bug:

I had noticed the following bug a while ago, but hadn't really caught my eye, because I thought it was only because I didn't have the right research.

But as the pictures show, there is definitely something wrong with the code.

The first picture is what I started with in terms of roids.
http://www.geocities.com/gameworldmatt/planet/shot1.txt

Then I went and purchased one metal roid. This increased my extraction to 16,500; up 250 as its supposed to.
http://www.geocities.com/gameworldmatt/planet/shot2.txt

Yet, when I purchased another eonium roid, rather than have my eonium extraction also go up to 16,500; the eonium did not increase but also my metal extraction was reduced to 16,250!
http://www.geocities.com/gameworldmatt/planet/shot3.txt

Even if the code limits mining efficiency, I should still get bonuses for mines and engineering benefits.

Thoughts, opinions, explainations?

*Edit- Pictures seem to be a crap shoot right now. Damn server.

Re: Incorrect Resource Calculation

um... *ahem*...

Is anyone looking into these problems?

Just a little note would be helpful... Thanks...

Re: Incorrect Resource Calculation

Um, its not actually a bug, it is a proper feature!

The idea is you only have the research to support 300 roids. If you get more than that, your miners dont know what to do, and in the confusion, you loose efficiency, and thus roids.

Think of it this way. If a human suddenly grew a third leg, would they instantly be more agile, or would they spend a long time tripping up over themselves. Without the training to support it, extra limbs/roids actually reduce your output!

Re: Incorrect Resource Calculation

it isn't a but, it's properly worked out... if u have more then 300 roids (in this case), they will 'recalculate' your roids to calculate the income.

in this case: total of 316 roids.
for the metal:
percentage of metal roids = 106/316. if u had a total of 300 roids (in the same ratio) that would give u 300*106/316 roids. that is 100,6 roids, rounded down to 100.

for the crystal and eonium:
percentage of crystal/eonium roids = 105/316. if u had a total of 300 roids (in the same ratio) that would give u 300*105/316 roids. that is 99,7 roids, rounded down to 99.

so then the roidincome are calculated with 100M 99C 99E roids...
