I feel the referee should shoulder a fair amount of the blame for the spirit in which the game was played. When he missed Boulahrouz's attrocious assault on that numpty Ronaldo he left the Portuguese thirsting for justice which they set about quenching right away. As for the dutch, they have a colourful history of implosions both on and off the field.

Overall the game was enjoyable to watch, but hardly the kind of football FIFA want to market. I think they'll come down hard on Figo and maybe a few others. Still though, all the better for England and let's face it, they could do with the help. This new 4-5-1 business of theirs is just plain weak.
