Starcraft was, is, and always shall be the pinnacle of RTS design and implementation. No RTS I've ever played comes within 10 light years of having such a variety of finely-balanced strategies. The only true imbalance is when playing a slapstick 3v3 and some sod goes carriers (as people inevitably do) - they could have removed carriers from the game and made it better.

1. You cannot win off nukes alone.
2. You can turn nukes off.
3. Starcraft is no way near as strategic as TA. Tactically, maybe. Race balance, maybe. But given the immensely restricted number of things you can do, it just doesn't have the scope.
