It's a risky thing to do, but if nothing changes, PA will continue its slow decline and eventual cease to be. It's a choice between alienating the current player base and maybe attracting a new one, or appealing to the current target audience knowing that it is shrinking. Paradoxically, getting rid of the current player base is probably the only way PA will survive in the long term. We are holding the game back.

On the other hand, do games really need to be viable long-term? I mean, PA is what, 12 years old by now? Maybe it's time to just accept the game will die at some point in the next 3-5 years and just keep playing as long as we can/want to.
