While the idea seems wonderfull, it lacks practical validity. What would the minimum be (open for endless debate and we have enough debate already :P), how would you rank non-limit alliances AND keep those alliances interested if you do not rank them at all, why not use avg. rank then (which is the same basicly). More disadvantages can be found i'm sure.

Most importantly: why would you want to change it? What downsides does the current scoring system have? Which disadvanatges would it solve? What advantages of the old system would we lose? What new disdadvantages would we create? How can it be abused?

Summary: if you want to change the system, first define the current systems' disadvantages and then name how this new method would be better.
