it's flat out tedious. the power of the word rosebud may once have had some impression to last through to a viewer but in the context of modern films, i find it (like the rest of the film) quite lacking in emotional depth. additionally, the film being tiring as a series of insistent metaphors didn't help much either. not that modern films don't do these same things ( hello linklater!) i felt largely detached to the film for the most part, for all its cleverly innovative audio-visual work, the film is a bit of a drag.
