Both types are illegal. Both interact with the PA server without requiring user interaction, in ways that are not explicitly allowed by PA Team. That's the definition of a bot.

Do you mean 'checking'? Because while that's true (people can build in random delays, for instance), it's not really relevant. If done well, there's no way to tell the difference between a cousin and a "cousin" either, yet we don't allow multiing either.
