I'm unsure what point you're trying to make, but if we presented some kind of threat to the aliens why shouldn't they kill us? If the situation was reversed id happily slaughter the lot. Thought processes that believe all life is inherently valuable are odd. Are you against wiping out AIDS? allowing for the fact that its a highly adaptable lifeform why make the presumption that it isn't a highly developed civilisation that is simply beyond us?
edit We're nothing to the aliens, but AIDS is nothing to us.
