The HD5 is the previous model, the one I was referring to is the NW-A3000. And in a serious audio magazine called Hi-Fi World (a recent edition), it beat every other HD player reviewed (inc. Creative and Apple) on both pure sound quality terms, and in the overall ratings. Personally speaking, I've never heard a particularly bad Sony portable, although their software seriously sucks which is why they usually get a slating.
