If somebody is expressing hatred or discrimination to any particular race/creed then steps should be taken to counter, prevent or stop this whether it's on the internet or otherwise.
However, the line that one draws between racism and something that may just be a little politically incorrect is somewhat blurry. To save having to make the distinction, it's easier for things to be in black and white than to assess greyscale.
