I had a similar problem a couple of months back that stumped me for a couple of days. I think I pinpointed it down to the way pentiums do operations with floats.... But im a little hazy... Is there a divide somewhere in your equation?

Try googling for pentium float error, or maybe pentium float divide error (that is, if theres a divide in it). I think thats where I found some info.
