I just think that Ultores play the long game best. They know that they can win the round in the last 300 ticks or the first 300, depending on the way the chips fall. They always have options. They play according to what happen and take each proposal on merit instead of tying themselves down to line of politics early on. Other alliances start with a goal of beating ultores and this need to beat them clouds their judgement when making political choices. They go for shirt term gains and end up out of options coming into the final straight. Wether it's CT or pen or nd or whoever they make the same short sighted choices in order to gain a minimal advantage early on and it comes back to haunt them as the ticks run out.
As far as ult mindset they have won 10 (?) Times in 20 rounds. They don't seem to mind now if they go a few rounds of just competing, because the core is tight and enjoys just playing. Wins happen or they dont, they have that luxury of waiting to add to their tally. Everyone else is consumed by being 1st
