So wait, you're saying that in a situation where the thrust of the engines cannot overcome the friction of the road/wheel/axle interfaces, the plane won't take off? I'm not sure I can disagree with that, except to say that in that instance we'd be dealing with a plane-shaped paperweight since if such friction existed the plane wouldn't take off under any circumstances (and as such, why would you even bother having wheels on the thing in the first place?)

It'd be cheaper to just build a bus than that plane, for all the air-travel the pair would do.
