It can be a tad challenging being new to this game, 99% of players are old salty chumps who's been playing this game for 10+ years, and continue to do some mainly for the social aspect of it.
Playing solo is pointless in Planetarion, it is all about the people you play with that makes the game what it is, so step one is to get in an alliance and get a network, there should be no lack of people very happy to teach You all you need to know to have fun playing.
