The "tiny" amount of RAM is less trouble than it seems, because not only do the systems not have to run an equivilently hungry OS, but the games are also designed to run on that amount of RAM as a limitation.

The current X-Box only has 64 megs of RAM, and that's only really represented a problem in badly coded games, so far (Thief 3, Deus Ex 2 for example).
