Unless you're in North Coldland, nights generally don't last for 24 hours. Literally, night means "time between sunset and sunrise", which at this time of year, in most of Europe, is 5-7 hours. Speaking for my own location, it's 6 hours and 3 minutes, between 22:45 and 05:33.
