If these independent artists really want to give their music to the masses for free, nothing is stopping them. Lots of artists
don't want to give their music away for free online (
otherwise they would!) yet don't have a choice when people use torrents to take it.
Also, the concept of piracy is not ridiculous, as most of the controversy surrounding this is that the guy running Oink had supposedly received over a hundred thousand pounds in donations through paypal. So money
was changing hands.
