The code awards you a def point for defending at the correct tick. What it's supposed to do. If someone has enough time to fanny on with this to send the correct ETA then tough on the attacker for PIng.
It is not a bug, the code is no behaving wrongly, there is no error in what it's output is.
As with so many wrongly labelled things from you it is just a game feature you don't like. Get over it
