I would agree all of thoose points might well have uses. I'm sure there would be some way to allow fleet catches or alternativly change the game in some other way to make them unnecessary.

how about letting the base fleet have missions - i.e. on missions page you can set base fleet to defend, but rather than for a specific tick - its essentially in defence mode or not in defence mode....

It becomes too wide then - look at how wide the ad banner is you would never fit login+logo+ ad banner on one line.

You also loose cohesiveness with the portal, PA ad banner etc.

I can only assume that Jolt makes a substantial amount of its money through ads and as such its a valid business decision to sacrifice things in favour of increasing ad-revenue.

That depends on what the planets did. If they were actively defending an alliance they were not a "member" of (and not defending anyone else) then they could perhaps be classed as a support planet....

I think its worth remembering the word dedicated in the eula. For a planet to be classed as a support planet for an alliance it not only needs to undertake repeated actions e.g. out of cluster...

Well actually people wouldn't be able to have 100% accurate alliance rankings without the game giving out information. Its all about changing the emphasis.

Its only been very preliminary so far. I only posted it becuase I was shocked by hwat was said. Yes it waa a poor sample etc, but at least it means I won't be going to start a marketing campaign...

I couldn't agree more with all of that, as you say though, how to do some of that is the question. Though Appoco and I have discussed the idea of using the r19 alliance score system for galaxies.

One of the interesting possibilites we could see next round is an alliance could play for its memebr's sucess - potentially somehting like a #15-15 ranked alliances could end up dominating the planet...

it is agsint the rules yes - but its also not an effective tactic as at the very least they would have to wait until after the shuffle to do it. exiling is probabaly a more effective way to do it.

We needed to announce most of the changes that effect alliances because the alliances told us they needed to know things so they could plan.

7 week rounds effectly demnd 5 round sper year with 3 week gap from tick stop to tick start.

That means no time for public betas between rounds and means that speed games between roudns would...

I've bene looking at next rounds scheduling and I'm struggling to find a senisble way to fit rounds in... 4 8 week rounds leaves too big a gap between rounds, and 5 7 week...

Not at all, if you read the CSS, the images can be positioned anywhere around the main content area, the menus can also be positioned so they stay on the screen when you scroll up and down the main...
