What you should do it code an in house defence and attack bot, so when galaxy members send defence when not on irc, the bot will update to the alliance on IRC what has been sent and by who.

Obviously some sort of limit, such as you can only do it an incoming fleet once and perhaps even a time limit on when you can do it again.

I think it'll be fun.
As zebra said, it'll add a nice change of pace and add some variety, making attacking more dynamic and interesting to figure out exactly what to hit your target with.

I did a thing like this for my A level computing. We had to use an access database then a visual basic front end for the GUI.
Access has it's uses even if just for doing basic database type stuff...

Galaxy & cluster wars would rule the school. Bring back eta bonuses for clusters and not allow anyone to defend out of galaxy or cluster (hard code it).

Unfortunatly, to make this possible, all of the game skins would have to be re made and as I am sure you can imagine, this is far easier said than done!

City link do suck. I've baught from ebuyer before and City Link and the ones that ended up pissing it up and getting me my order late.
