Important note: cotton is not linen.

Linen is made from flax and is quite coarse, and also has larger holes between the weave. This makes it a cooler fabric than cotton so good for the summer....

The two concepts are one and the same. It's not possible to reverse MD5, hence the need to brute force it in the first place, hence brute force of password == brute force of MD5 password hash.

I've tended to use Verbatim or Maxell discs. The times I've had coasters have been with cheaper Mirror discs, but I've still burnt plenty of those successfully too.
