Like I already said, there's no DOCTYPE specification so the rules that the validator is using are fairly arbitrary. From the look of it the original author was using HTML 3 or 4.1 Frameset.

Those library items contain link tags that fetch the CSS file. That is probably not messing up the page but it is still going to be screwing with IE's parser in some way.

I added NTL's backup DNS servers to the router config, and changed the MAC to the router hardware default. That seemd to satisfy NTL's handshake thingummy.

Yes they are - the router seems to be configured fine.

Only thing is it only gets a connection when it is using the MAC number of the modem, and even then neither PC can connect to the intermaweb....

Connecting either PC to the modem directly works fine - it's connecting via the router that is the problem. Even though the router says it can get a response...

- It doesn't implement CSS properly, forcing designers to come up with elaborate ways (e.g. dynamic values) to get IE to display pages the same as all the other browsers...
