This would be fine if you thought a decision could be made within the tick, a player ought to have their opportunity to Defend their account edit (and this can't always be done imediately) edit ,...

I would think the simplest way to avoid ANY future problems with this would be to introduce a closure procedure akin to the Vacation Mode.
