It's ok now - I just chaged the version of XP I was using from an unoffical "sp3" type install to the regular sp2 one and I don't have the problem anymore.

I thought I did, but on the desktop I get an error when I try to enable file nd printer sharing when using the network wizard - is there a way to do it manually? It works fine on the laptop.

That word doesn't exist. I can speak Welsh. I also have a Welsh to English dictionary which says:

Garage, n, modurdy, garai, modurfa

Also, my grandparents speak Welsh as their first language,...
