I'm sad to say that this was one of the worst speedrounds I ever wasted time on. I quit the round during the first break, and returned back at the end of the first day as well as playing Sunday...

The proper way to be noobish at start is first to build reflectors accidentially, then fail your sector scan quest by blocking - when scanning yourself.

Attacking cathaar is now even less risky with news scans for all attacks. In the old times, there was a possibility of kill-ship-defence that would catch your fleet. Nowadays, there isn't even that.
