Well, I'd say that Veneratio is a pretty good example of two small alliances going together to make a much better one. The merge between Lodoom and Mystica happend soon after the begining of round 11...

I agree that the small amounts of fighting among the top alliances has stagnated the game somewhat. All in all, second place is not a bad result for any alliance and I cant see why people wont strive...
