If you dont use your recources you have less ships, and if you have less ships you are easier to attack.
And you still gain value from resources, so you get more xp from somebody with equal ships...

nr 1 and nr2 are head to head in xp and roids. then about 1 day before the round ends a galaxy shower hits the nr1 and a meteor shower hits the nr2.

You have the option of putting your planet into a vacation mode, for if you are going away. While your planet is in vacation mode you cannot be attacked, however you do not accumulate...

I just think its silly that in PAX the pa crew added new things for the more inactive players. They downgrade it when somebody found a way to get loads of XP for it, and then its so useless score...
