Re: Nagging over tiny things thread #2
Haven't played in about 5 or 6 years, but here we go:
- having various "confirm" checkboxes is super annoying from a user experience point of view - so many inconsistences with where to find stuff! Alliance specific settings are somewhere under "preferences" instead of under 'alliance", alliance scan requests are on "waves" but the alliance scan archive under "alliance" |
Re: Nagging over tiny things thread #2
The body of ingame mails cannot be empty. There's no reason for this.

Re: Nagging over tiny things thread #2
Why would anyone send an ingame mail with no message?

By the way, Apocco, a better way of keeping track of which nags have been fixed and which haven't might be to put a marker in the original post, rather than a reply anywhere from 1 to 100 posts later. That would make unresolved nags much easier to find. |
Re: Nagging over tiny things thread #2
Any where there are coords, make them links to the location. Galaxy status, and alliance defence page are two needed the most.

Re: Nagging over tiny things thread #2
Scans:
When set on 'advanced' you can scan multiple co-ords/types at same time (which is great). But when requesting scans, it is still the old way of one scan/type per page. Can we make requesting scans same as own scans on advanced setting |
Re: Nagging over tiny things thread #2
A bunch of interface issues:
Input fields for coords should have the type 'number', not 'text'. This is especially useful on mobile. That's HTML5-only, but it's about time for that, anyway. Don't pre-enter defaults into most coord input fields, and definitely not zeroes. These have to be removed manually on many mobile devices. Just leave them empty, or use the placeholder attribute. After you submit a request on the scan request page, a full reload is performed. This forces users to re-enter the full set of coords if they want another scan on the same coords, or even a different scan on similar coords, both of which are common in galraids. Instead, the page should just AJAX the data to the server, without a full page reload. Easier option: keep the full page reload, but preserve the entered coords. The links of the page menu on the left are impossible to click reliably on mobile. Too small. Relatedly, there are probably too many of them too. Possible merge candidates: History/Journal, Stats/Manual, Waves/Covert Ops (Espionage?), Research/Construction (Development?), Politics/Galaxy/Galaxy Forum. The page menu on the left does not scroll if it doesn't fit on the page. |
Re: Nagging over tiny things thread #2
They need a dedicated responsive mobile css files.
http://danielmarkavis.co.uk/pa/overview2.html Obviously you need to create the files for larger screens. The above was designed for tablets mostly, but the menu is too large and does need shrinking/merging. |
Re: Nagging over tiny things thread #2
Move Galaxy Status and Alliance Defence onto the same page, under two tabs, even if they link to two diff pages.
Move Galaxy fund onto mining page, again under a new tab, rename mining to Treasury? Remove all the menu links from the "menu_grp" class. |
Re: Nagging over tiny things thread #2
Ingame attack page.
Bit at the bottom to show your own bookings rather than having to go searching on what you booked. (yes we use ingame) |

Re: Nagging over tiny things thread #2
When a planet spot is open, show the open spot on the galaxy page:
1 R1 of P1 2 ... 3 R3 of P3 4 etc |
Re: Nagging over tiny things thread #2
Bug: when you clear a fleet in the bcalc, and then select 'add to last active bcalc' on a unit scan, nothing happens. It only works after you hit 'calc'.
|
Re: Nagging over tiny things thread #2
On the alliance attack page, the 'claim' in-window popup is too small, the unclaim button is outside of the borders.
|
Re: Nagging over tiny things thread #2
It would be nice to see per-fleet value/score loss/gain in the bcalc. With stealing and salvage, it's often unnecessarily hard to tell which fleet takes the brunt of the losses in a calc.
|
Re: Nagging over tiny things thread #2
When a planet is deleted after being closed, it is still present on at least 1 dump file afterwards. Another small issue with ordering?
|
Re: Nagging over tiny things thread #2
On the alliance defense page, one of the statuses an incoming can have is 'Fake'. It has never been clear to me if that means 'Fake defense' or 'Fake attack', and that means I cannot use it for fear of miscommunication. Please make it explicit which it is, and maybe add the other option as well.

Re: Nagging over tiny things thread #2
Make the number only input have an input type of number, make using the site on a mobile so much easier
|
Re: Nagging over tiny things thread #2
Not sure if it's been mentioned OR if it's big of small but I'd like to see a fleet value display at the bottom of each of the three fleets, this would help with team ups and for retaining certain percentages of fleets for your alliance
|
Re: Nagging over tiny things thread #2
display the maximum amount available to donate BEFORE donating not afterwards
|
Re: Nagging over tiny things thread #2
Ship costs should probably be rounded, not floored.

The alliance dump files contain alliance value, but this isn't visible in the ingame rankings.

Re: Nagging over tiny things thread #2
Fleets page: i know the checks for reloaded page is there for a reason but for people recalling fleets, why fail on that action because the page is out of date, just recall the fleet. so many are crashing because they recall in a rush and the game doesn't let them.

Re: Nagging over tiny things thread #2
When I add a fleet to last active bcalc, I have to click through 3 dialogs: the first only shows the ships, the second offers to assign the ships to a side, then finally the third to add to a fleet. This should be just one popup.
In addition, these windows are all displayed in a different spot on the screen, making it unnecessarily hard to click through them quickly. Have actual buttons there, too, rather than text links that I have to guess are clickable. And from the previous nag thread: make 'new' the default selected option. |
Re: Nagging over tiny things thread #2
In the bcalc, when a fleet is disabled, its value is hidden. No reason for that.
|
Re: Nagging over tiny things thread #2
When a scan request is open, and a non-scanner performs that scan, it is not used to fill the request.
|
Re: Nagging over tiny things thread #2
With 3 reslabs out of 77 structures, 35% population on research, I get 146 RP per tick. When I go to the population page and move the population slider to 34% and then back to 35%, the prediction says I'll lose RP per tick, despite there have been no change. There should be only one implementation of this calculation.

Re: Nagging over tiny things thread #2
Appoco really wishes mz would stop playing again.

Re: Nagging over tiny things thread #2
BUT NOT YET
Many pages in PA have multiple subtabs. There appear to be 2 implementations, one that requires a full page reload on-click, and one that just JS-switches. The latter is better. |

Re: Nagging over tiny things thread #2
When you do a single scan using the advanced scanning interface, it's put into a group all of its own. Unnecessary.
|
Re: Nagging over tiny things thread #2
on the top 100 launchers page you can see allied planets and galaxy planets, but planets from your own alliance aren't marked.
|
Re: Nagging over tiny things thread #2
View each members ships regardless to if home or not. At the moment pretty sure you have to mess around with free ships and fleets page or do an au.
|
Re: Nagging over tiny things thread #2
Open bcalc, place 500 in the def roids box, leave coords at 0:0:0 and hit calc.
|
Re: Nagging over tiny things thread #2
When you're allied with another alliance, you get a handy list of coords. When you have just a NAP, that information is also shared, but you have to go through every galaxy to find all the planets, which is just inconvenient.
