Word of Mouth
 

While lots of people have been moaning about banners etc, word of mouth has been entirely overlooked.

texting old gal mates / alliance mates on my phone (around 10 of them) with just "free 8 week round of planetarion starts tomorrow - Appoco" got 5 people answering me within 20 minutes and signing up.

if everyone just mentioned it to old friends, they might well just sign up for old times sake, as it's free. We're not actually allowed to e-mail people with any information from backups that we keep for multihunting / credit purposes at the moment, so we can't actually do something similar. Word of mouth is still the most important way of spreading things on the internet though, and probably always will be.

I've deleted nearly all my PA contacts from my phone :(

Yes, spam people with your MSN names too! all the poor people on my contact list are being submitted to it :p

Any old-PA ex HC could try to find out old members maillists and send mail warning about free rnd.

If you arent an HC but have contac with someone who could provide such list, would be helpful to ask him to send mail or send the mails yourself

I asked that sometime ago for PAWiki and worked great

We just deleted all our old lists from eclipse.

Some of those pictures with Zhil and elviz were one offs. They'll never fall for that hidden camera in the nacho dish trick again either. Utter tragedy :(

i got 45, and theyre all playing just to defend me!

they all live close together, and are very poor, so they log in from one computer.... i hope thats ok?!?!

dont you have all old signup-email adresses? from the last 3-5 rounds? just mail them the mail you get with sending via the button on the preferences (email a friend) and they might come.

I got one of those messages too! i actually laughed! :p I wasnt going to play this round, but in the next couple of hours i'll be signing up a planet. So you should prolly increase that to 6 ;).

Because PA either didn't keep the e-mail records, or they didn't have a little checkbox to say its ok for them to spam. This is all "back in the day", ofc

yes but for the last few rounds at least theres been that checkbox, im sure pa has lost some of its players in pax era, not only that couldnt jolt email its uers about pa?

Yes, they could and should, as long as their checkboxes are checked (which you know etc). I guess over the past few rounds its been the same group of players playing really, but I'd like to see emails too.
