Windows rebooting @ startup
After installing Sygate Personal Pro last night and shutting down, it was to my horror that upon restart the PC crashed and keeps on doing so. Basically, the computer starts up - now when it gets to the login screen - regardless of whether I login or not, the PC will go black after 5-7 seconds displaying a message "no signal" then the system will restart and the same process happens.
I checked a site off Google and it said to check my voltages which I have done alas, no help. Thanks all. |
Re: Windows rebooting @ startup
Get into Windows via Safe Mode and remove Sygate Personal Pro, reboot then see what happens

Re: Windows rebooting @ startup
Cheers dude it's fixed :) Odd that a firewall would cause that problem...

Re: Windows rebooting @ startup
nope, Zone Alarm did the same to me, it would BSOD randomly at the login screen or when it loads up after getting into desktop.
removed ZA and all is fine |
Re: Windows rebooting @ startup
I thought firewalls aren't loaded prior to Windows start-up - well they do not start until you login?

Re: Windows rebooting @ startup
Most firewalls will use a driver to make sure they load the moment Windows starts (and the computer connects to the internet).
Some computers just don't like certain firewalls, I suspect it has to do with the specific Ethernet card, 56k or USB device being used for the internet connection |
