hard-drive protection

so let's say i have a secondary hard-drive with lots of informations that i want to protect should my computer ever get stolen and they decide to remove this hard-drive from the system - what protection measures are there out there to prevent any kind of access to these files?

I used to have a program which could be used to completely encrypt a partition but I forgot the name so this post really isn't of any use to you sorry.

Re: hard-drive protection

it does work on secondary drives, not only the one windows is installed on.
it also works on removable drives like usb flash disks or usb hard disks, other partitions on the disk, volumes stored on cd/dvd , etc.
Its all in the docs / faq.

Couldn't say, i've only ever created it on the drive with no data on. Might be a good opportunity to move al lthe data off, format it, then move them back on after using this tool.
