Question about quests

Quick question about a quest.

Quest "Initiate Asteroids"
Description:
You need asteroids to give more income to your planet. Initiate some!
Mission:
Gain 3 Metal asteroids, 3 Crystal asteroids and 3 eonium asteroids.
Reward:
Gain 2000 of each resource

Does this mean you have to initiate roids or does getting (gaining) roids from other quests also work?
(like posting 5 times on this forum. Gives you 5 of each)(not an official quest but still )

Re: Question about quests

I'm not sure. Easy to test, though, you can always reset your planet afterwards (before tick start, resetting is instant). That said, I don't think it's an important question. You want to initiate roids before you finish any quests that give roids, because earlier roids are cheaper.

You need to initiate I'm sure. I have vague memory of creating an alliance (12 roids) and didn't complete until I went in and inted to 300.

Re: Question about quests

I think actually it just checks if you have 3 of each roid

Re: Question about quests

If you are initiating roids anyway, then surely you want to do them before any free ones arrive to minimise on cost?

Re: Question about quests

Thats why you init before you even accept the quests. That way you pay less for the roids and get the free ones when they are more expensive.

Re: Question about quests

Except if you don't want to use the startup resource bonus at tick 0, in which case you need the resources from some of the quests to init.

Just tested. Roids from other quests will also do it.

The fact that Appoco didn't change the text for that quest!

Absurd! :p

Re: Question about quests

I'm curious then ... is there any reasons not to init?
I mean what's the point of starting with less than 200 roids?

Re: Question about quests

If you don't need the income and don't want attract inc e.g. scanner then under 200 roids may be appropriate

Less value means more XP and less HCT research means faster research (TT, hulls, scans, cov ops are all valid options).

Im starting with less than 200 roids. Going for cores first, so can't mine more than 100 roids for a while.
