being boring about this for a moment...

From the 'bureau of labor statistics' the top 3 are
  • fishermen (drowning)
  • timber cutters (struck by falling object)
  • airplane pilots (crashes) (in small planes like QazokRouge :D)
all of which have a risk factor approx 20 times higher than 'the average job'.

The surprising one, to me at least, was cab drivers (homicide) at risk factor 9.5.

Most popular causes of death at work are car accidents and falls.

Ive heard it from a number of different sources that dentists often kill themselves. Can't imagine why, maybe it get's depressing talking to someone who cannot talk back all day, although i suppose a certain type of person would really enjoy it.

All figures are per annum based on the 2002 survey results put out by the Bureau of Labor Statistics in America.

In terms of sheer numbers, more truck drivers --- 808 –--died on the job than any other vocation in the top ten. But because there are so many truckers, their fatality rate is only 25 per 100,000
