well, the stars said the article.

anyway, if I'm not mistaken, nothing on earth happens without Chandra Wickramasinghe saying it came from the stars.... I think he is the worlds biggest advocete of panspermia.

The possibility that it's extra-terrestrial, not that it comes from Mars.

However, after reading several other articles, it appears that they've succesfully isolated the virus in a civet cat, which means that it's a whole lot more likely that it was spread by those.

Devastating

Examples include the plague of Athens
the plague at athens spread so quickly because the entire population of attica was crammed inside the city walls as they were hiding from the peleponnesians.

don't believe everything you read folks. this doens't look too well researched to me :)

A small group of astrobiologists...
Since any evidence of extra-terrestrial life has yet to be discovered, I can see why someone would have to invent such stories to give themselves work and/or publicity. I mean, what else can 'astrobiologists' do other than guess what aliens look like and criticise X-Files episodes with "that would never happen"...?

JammyJim 23 May 2003 16:34

just because you cant find or see it doesnt mean it isnt there.

LHC 23 May 2003 16:56

Just because it could be "there" doesn't mean it has the means or desire to arrive on earth.

pablissimo 23 May 2003 17:00
